About The 2010 World Traveller Internship
The 2010 World Traveller Internship gives two people the chance to traverse the globe experiencing a number of travel adventures and document their experiences daily with videos, pictures and blogs. En route they’ll also collect the best travel tips from the locals they meet to share with the world.
Our Interns will be responsible for describing everything they do with the ultimate goal of inspiring others to become World Travellers!
Traveling side-by-side, they’ll travel through Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil and the US capturing the essence of life as a World Traveller.
Selection Process:
Round 1
Create a 2-3 minute video telling us why you’ve got what it takes to become a World Traveller Intern. The video should be posted as a response to our video here. Then create a profile here and submit the link to your YouTube video. Tell us and and world as much information as possible about you and start sharing your profile on Facebook, Twitter and beyond in order to get your friends to vote for you and get you featured on the homepage of WorldTravellerIntern.co.uk.
Make sure you have completed 100% of your application by the 25th March 2010.
Round 2
The top 50 applicants will be selected based on creativity, uniqueness, likeability, personality, as well as the number of votes received. The top 50 will submit a full application complete with CV, past travel experience and references.
Round 3
A panel of judges from STA Travel and other partners will select the top 20 candidates based on the full applications received.
Round 4
The top 20 will undergo a phone interview with STA Travel to determine the final 10
Round 5
The top 10 will be required to submit a second video. Voting will open again with the number of votes contributing to our final decision. The two winners, along with 2 runners up, will be announced on the 12th May.
Responsibilities
- Capturing amazing video footage and photos
- Interviewing fellow travellers and locals
- Showcasing your experiences to other travellers through video, travel journal/blogs, podcasts, song & dance, poem etc.
- Collect tips, must-sees and must-dos from each country visited
- Representing, supporting and highlighting STA Travel products and services.
- Having the best time of your life!
Requirements/Qualifications
- Strong passion and/or desire to travel the world and share your experiences with others
- Excellent creative, written and verbal skills
- Outgoing personality
- Video camera/photography skills
- Basic computer skills
- Enjoy being active and able to hike, bike, kayak, and more
- Over 18 and must hold a valid UK passport.
