The 2009 World Traveller Interns

2010 is the first year the World Traveller Internship programme has been run in the UK off the back of huge success in the US where it has been running since 2007.

We’ve teamed up with some amazing partners to give our interns the best possible stuff for their trip…

Lindsay Clark

A native of Wabash, Indiana, Clark is no stranger to the airport. She personifies what a world traveler is. After graduating in May 2008 from Indiana University, she planned a seven-month, global circumnavigation with stops in 24 countries across Europe, Africa and Asia. This trip brought her total number of countries visited to 37. She also participated in a Semester at Sea and two study abroad programs – one in Florence and the other in Umbria, Italy.

During the 2009 World Traveler Internship, Clark made her mark as the thoughtful, reflective traveler of the duo. During the journey, Lindsay picked up some traditional Fijian cooking methods and shared her thoughts on one of her new favorite travel destinations - the Scottish Highlands.

Chris Danner

This Case Western student has a habit of combining two of his passions – volunteer work and art – with his travel. Twice during high school, Danner traveled with his school to Baja California, Mexico, where he provided art therapy for young children and researched local watersheds used in sea turtle conservation. In 2005, he took another volunteer trip, this time to San Blas Islands, Panama, where he helped build a school for the local Kuna tribe. On the art side, Danner spent a semester during high school in Rome, Italy, taking classes in art history and Italian.

During the 2009 World Traveler Internship, Danner was always entertaining including making out with his new girlfriend Daisy the Giraffe in South Africa and holding his own in a Kava challenge with his hosts in a remote village in Fiji.
