My Ideal Destination: If forced to pick just one, right now it would have to be South America. A breathtaking mix of different cultures, landscapes, relics from worlds past and a whole new continent to discover and explore, South America paints a picture of one of the most diverse places on earth and attracts me as it seems so different from any culture I have yet to experience. Having said that I feel that to highlight just one destination as ideal is a tough question for any traveller. What I love to experience (as well as the huge sights!) is all the little unique things that each location has to offer :) I have found through personal experience that travelling is different to merely visiting a place and that in pointing a camera in the opposite direction; an inquisitive individual can open up a world rarely seen by tourists. Footprints in the sand at rainbow beach, a group of children in Fiji seeing their faces for the first time on the tiny screen of a digital camera, a spider protectively crouching over it’s eggs or a dingo lazily wondering past the truck on Fraser Island. These are the moments that I will forever treasure, from one location to the next. These are the moments that, to me, epitomise travel, regardless of destination.
